The Architect Spyridon Moustakas in cooperation with the Mechanical Engineer Ioannis Gkinis (founder of KAOL ENERGY SOLUTIONS) took part in the "Future Bench" competition, which ran parallel to the "Athens Bench Mark" competition. This competition was about designing the bench of the future.
The team designed a bench which is an aluminium structure in which you can install multiform and multifuction cubes. The four basic cubes that the team proposed were a cube seat, a cube chair, a light solar cube and a plant cube. The light solar cube indicates the rest spots at night.
See our proposal: multi-form [cu]bench
It is a strong structure, which is easy to assemble and modify. Moreover, it fits in any place, since it gives you the ability to install any type of cube you need. The materials of the bench are ecologic and recyclable (wood, aluminium, plexiglas).
The bench of the team took the 29th place among the 50 most popular proposals after public voting.
The proposal is also hosted by the website "Andros365" since both designers originate from Andros island in Cyclades.
